Any week that starts with Rebel Night is good.

Yep, last week did. D is dancing again. He kicks so much ass.

What else?

  • Wit's End on Saturday, complete with an awesome late night diner trip (and getting to hang with some great people I haven't seen in a long time)
  • Belated birthday dinner with some of my best friends
  • Getting some dental work finished- quick and painlessly!
  • Meeting someone new that I really dig
  • Dancing to 50s rock 'n roll on the second floor of an Argentinian restaurant in Tribeca

I can't believe it's Friday already!

Fact: That will be a title once a month, most likely.

But let's discuss the week...

  • Rebel Night last Friday
  • Spending the better part of the weekend with one of my favorite people (this included a walk through Harsimus Cemetery and a photo shoot)
  • Another great PURE rehearsal
  • A super production pre-production meeting for a special upcoming project
  • A schedule change at work that will mean more money

A Day Late, but Regardless....

  • Rebel Night
  • A Mamabear Visit: Gotham Comedy Club and much wedding planning
  • A really nice, homecooked dinner with Bocky
Also, I found out that 2 of my favorite people are planning springtime visits to NYC! One is from Australia, and I haven't seen him in years.

And last night I had a quiet, girly night in. I dyed my hair, chatted with boys, put laundry away, cleaned some of my house, puttered around on the internet, and did some cleaning.

A Quick, Pre-Rebel Night List

  • Spring clothing swap and bonding afterward over Presecco and Nutella
  • BockyBoop Date Day/Art Walk in DUMBO: the Brooklyn Bridge, art books, candy store, dinner at Superfine, the carousel, the park....
  • A really inspiring PURE session
  • Homo Erectus Rites of Spring at Stonewall

Now it's time to go rock 'n roll at Otto's!

Week 1 of my 31st Year

I got this idea, as I often do, in the middle of work day. I was thinking about how, one week ago today, I was getting ready for my birthday party. I was standing there at work considering the things I would need to do once I got home, before my guests arrived. And that led me to think: what did I do in my first week of age 31? I try to post a highlight list every new year, but that never seems to be enough. There are small things that get lost- compliments, events where there were inexplicably no pictures taken, tiny little triumphs. Maybe these things are meant to live in journals and memories that get sandwiched between the bigger "stuff". But I want more. I want to celebrate everything. And this is where the impetus for this blog lies.

Every Friday, or as close to Friday as I can get, I want to post a short list of things that made the prior week awesome. Little things, medium things, big things. Why Friday? Cuz I can. And because to me, Fridays hold lots of promise. They're perched at the beginning of a weekend that holds lots of promise for adventure, even if that adventure if a new loaf of bread in the breadmaker and a documentary playing on the computer.

Here is my very first list. (I like making lists.)

  • I threw a successful birthday party. We had fondu. New friends were made among existing connections. I didn't go to bed till 6:30am.
  • We had our first Shabu Shaby Night at The Barracks. I made vegetable broth from scratch.
  • I started some new pieces, with my yet-to-be-used resin in mind.
